Sparkassenverband Baden-Württemberg
The Baden-Württemberg Association of Savings Banks (SVBW) represents the interests of 53 savings banks - Sparkassen - and the municipal authorities which own them. Its member institutions employ almost 36,000 people across more than 2,500 branches, with total consolidated assets of 175.5 billion Euros. In the region of Württemberg the individual savings banks are owned predominantly by local authorities, while in Baden the institutions are mainly in the hands of towns and parishes. The SVBW is a public corporation. It is a member of the Association of German Savings Banks. The SVBW owns or part owns: the Baden-Württemberg Building Society (100%), the Rheinland-Pfalz Building Society (20%), the Baden-Württemberg State Bank (40.534%) and the German Savings Banks Association (public sector) in Berlin.
