Shimizu

Junichi Shimizu is the director of commendation. Since 1992, the Asahi Glass Foundation established the Blue Planet Prize, an award presented to individuals or organizations worldwide in recognition of major contributions to solving global environmental problems. The Prize is offered in the hopes of encouraging efforts to bring about the healing of the Earth’s fragile environment. He is managing and coordinating the Blue Planet Prize, which includes the support for selection committee activity, cultivating nominators, ceremony and other environmental activities such as annual reporting the Environmental Doomsday Clock. He has a background of researcher of coating technology on glass and Senior Global R&D Coordinator in AGC Glass Company.
