Training illiterate rural women-called Solar Mamas- from non electrified villages all over the world to be confident and competent solar engineers in 6 months in the Barefoot College in India. They go back and solar electrify their own villages without any help from "outside".Today over 750 Solar Mamas have been trained from 78 of the Least Developed Countries benefiting nearly 500,000 people all south of the Equator
