Heide Bergmann

Heide Bergmann is an educator and gardener based in Freiburg where she co-founded the Oekostation Freiburg in 1986. The Oekostation is an educational center for sustainable development which is supported by the BUND (Friends of the Earth Germany). In 1987 she initiated the Green Classroom for schools and kindergardens. In addition, she teaches workshops, gives lectures and writes books on organic gardening, on how to grow an herb garden and on gardening with children. In 2007 Bergmann was awarded the environmental prize Trophée de Femmes for Germany by the Foundation Yves Rocher.
