Zaotschnaja

Tjan Zaotschnaja was born in Kamtschatka. 1980 shortly before the Olympic Games in Moscow she was expelled from the USSR due to her engagement with the Human Right Movement. Since 1992 she is working as assistant at the department of Slavistik at the LMU-University in Munich. Since 1990 she supports different initiatives of Indigenous people in Russia, establishing contacts to Indigenous organisations in and out of Russia. In 1992 she was responsible for the Siberian representatives at the World Uranium Hearing Salzburg. Zaotschnaya is member of the Organisation of “Gesellschaft für bedrohte Völker”.
