Joachim Luther has over thirty years of experience in physics and renewable energies. His main focus areas are: solar electricity generation, solar and energy efficient buildings and sustainable energy systems. Since 1993 he was full professor for solid state physics and solar energy at the University of Freiburg and in parallel to this director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE). In 2008 he became founding director of the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS). Today he is Visiting Professor at SERIS and Director Emeritus at the Fraunhofer ISE. He has won several environmental prizes.
