Uwe Riecken is working as senior scientist and head of the Department for Habitat Protection and Landscape Ecology at the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation in Bonn. He studied biology at the University of Kiel and has been working at the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation since 1987. In 1999 he completed his Ph.D. at the University of Marburg in Nature Conservation. Some of his current key tasks are the red list of threatened ecosystems, habitat management, ecologic networks and nature conservation along the German and European Green Belt (Former Iron Curtain).
