Dr. Igor Prokofyev

Igor Prokofev is the Director of NGO Grassroots Alliance PERESVET. Since 2009 he is coordinator of the iBats Russia project. He is a founder of the Bat Conservation Alliance in Russia. The main goal of his activity is bat conservation and public awareness about these animals. In 2011 he got the prestigious Whitley Award for his project "Community Based Bat Conservation in Western Russia". That project played an important role for understanding the current situation of the bat population in Western Russia.
