Sameer Hajee

Sameer Hajee is co-founder and CEO of Nuru Energy East Africa, who provides clean, sustainable, off-grid lighting and recharging solutions to base of pyramid households at the Subsistence level, i.e. those earning less than $1.50 US per day. Previously, he was Global Business Director for Freeplay Energy in South Africa and Sustainable Business Consultant for UNDP Kenya. Hajee has also worked in technology positions in Silicon Valley, as a microprocessor engineer, and in Afghanistan, as a telecom engineer. He has an Electrical Engineering degree from McMaster University in Canada and an MBA from INSEAD.
