Becquerel Prize , 1997

Adolf Goetzberger founded the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems in Freiburg in 1981, the largest solar energy institute in Europe. He is retired but still active in solar energy. He was President of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES) and President of the German Solar Energy Society. His awards are: Doctor h.c. of the Uppsala University, the Farrington Daniels Award of ISES, the Karl W. Böer Medal, the Becquerel Prize of the European Commission and the William Cherry Award of the IEEE such as many others.
