Prof. Dr. Franz Daschner

Franz Daschner was the first physician who received the German Environmental Award (Deutscher Umweltpreis) for his work. With the prize money, he founded the Foundation Viamedica. The main focus of the foundation is in the areas of the hospital ecology and hospital hygiene. But also issues like climate change and sustainable pharmaceuticals are reflected in the projects.
