He has 24 years of conservation management and research study experience in Ukraine and other countries of Europe and Asia, including protected area/Ramsar/UNESCO sites designation and management, development of ecological networks and work with local stakeholders. Extensive experience research studies on biodiversity issues in Ukraine, Austria, Germany, UK, South Korea and Poland. He is a biodiversity expert on floodplain ecology, invasive/rare species/habitat types and ecological network, large carnivores) (over 90 publications including 13 books). https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Bohdan_Prots Expert with 9 years’ experience with environmental policy and legislation. Author of plans for introducing the EU Habitat and Birds Directives to Ukraine and study on Legal Framework of Biodiversity Protection in Forest Sector of Ukraine. He also owns 15 years’ management experience on nature conservation projects and programme, including team management and communication with a wide range of stakeholders as well as policy and advocacy at national and international levels. Dr. Prots is an expert with over 8 years of protected area management, capacity building for protected areas, conservation management of plant species/habitats and establishment of large scale protected areas and integrated rural development including local communities’ development, socio-economic development in and around protected areas and development of protected areas management plans. He has over 9 years’ experience with Management Effectiveness Tracking Tool (METT and CPAMETT); RAPPAM evaluation; Participatory Management; High Conservation Value Forests and High Nature Value Farmlands Methodology (HCVF/HNVF); protected areas, Ramsar sites and UNESCO sites establishment and EU Habitat Types methodology adaptation (author or co-author of toolkits).
