The Philippine Cockatoo Conservation Program (PCCP) is implemented since 1998 until present in the hope of saving the critically endangered Philippine Cockatoo from extinction. The bird is endemic to the Philippines and only a little over 1,200 individuals are left in the wild. The PCCP employs an ecosystemic approach to conservation and is participatory in nature. The strategies include nest protection, capacity development, conservation education, protected area establishment and management and livelihood.
